This week, we have a Fight Pass card at Singapore. Because it’s in Singapore, we must wake up at 4:30am ET to watch it live. I’ve set the alarm and I will be up ready to sweat these early fights. DraftKings doesn’t have many big tournaments this week so I will personally be playing more money games and less GPPs. I will still have 3 GPP lineups but a lot of my investment this week will probably be in money games. But, there is still money to be won so here are a few plays I enjoy and my fade of the week:
Money Game play of this week — Stack, Leon Edwards ($8,600) AND Donald Cerrone ($7,600)
Donald”Cowboy” Cerrone is not in a dull fight. Whether he wins or loses, his struggles generally score as a whole along with also the winner nearly always pays off their cost in DraftKings. I typically search for 100 total points if I stack a fight in cash and that I think for this being a possible 5-rounds, it should score well more than that. Should Edwards win this battle, it’s likely an early KO, and if that happens he’ll score very high. If Cerrone wins, he can lock up a submission or a knockout which will easily 10x his cost of $7.6k. But in any event, you have the winner at your lineup and the ensured 30-90 win bonus points if you do pile. I think this battle will be fun as long as it lasts and there should be a fantastic number of points added up before one of these two get completed. If this does go 5 rounds, then these two should nevertheless get over 100 total points together with the pace Cowboy brings to the table.
GPP play of the week — Li Jingliang ($9,200)
Li Jingliang always puts on a show when he steps in the Octagon. He’s a quick pace fighter who scores very well on DraftKings when he wins. I think he must be the better fighter wherever this struggle ends up against Abe. In addition, I think he can finish this battle on the feet or the ground and if that happens he’d probably pay off his high price tag of $9.2k. He’s the 3rd most expensive fighter on the card and I believe he’s the highest ceiling. That’s what we desire in GPPs is a ceiling, so that’s the reason why Jingliang is my GPP play of the week.
Underdog drama of this week — Song Yadong ($7,900)
Song Yadong is my favorite DraftKings”underdog” this week. His gambling line has changed to him being a slight favorite at -120 but he’s $400 cheaper than his opponent. I think saving that $400 is a fantastic move in cash or GPP games therefore that I enjoy Yadong in all formats. I believe Yadong will look to maintain this fight on the feet and search for that KO win. If he does get the win, then I think he must readily pay off that cost and get at least 10x.
Fade of this week — Viviane Pereira ($8,800)
My primary difficulty with Pereira is that she’s too expensive. At $8.8k, I need at least 88 points from her and I think she needs get an end to perform that. I don’t see that happening and does Vegas with a +617 ITD line. She does not strike a high enough pace or land enough takedowns to score 88 points in my personal opinion. In her 2 UFC wins she held her competitor against the fence for a fantastic portion of the struggle and no points have been scored when that happens. If she does this again here, there is no way she even comes near 88 points in spite of a win. I will have a complete fade on Pereira this week and I will compensate for different favorites instead.
