I mentioned in my selection that I did not think the Toronto Blue Jays ought to be favored against anyone at this point, especially on the street. Thus, when I saw them from the Seattle Mariners, who debut their precious pitching prospect, Justus Sheffield as street favorites, I jumped around Seattle. Throw in the fact that Toronto had lost five straight games, and the Mariners had won their last three series, and it felt just as a terrific value place.
The game itself was an affair that jump from an early lead and saw Toronto demanding up Sheffield. The M fought back to the game and revealed a lot of soul and took control of the contest. In the long run, Seattle came off with the 7-4 victory, and another underdog winner was picked up by us.
After a slow start to August we have officially caught fire here recently as last night we picked up our winner in our ten stakes. And this has not been a case of placing a bunch of wood and backing favorites every night. Of those eight winnings bets, six of these have come as either even money or on underdogs. We will look to keep hot tonight since we visit San Diego, where the Red Sox are hosted by the Padres.
The Boston Red Sox have been in San Diego Saturday for game two of a three-game place against the Padres. Even the Red Sox dominated game one night, picking up the victory. The Padres are entirely closed by eduardo Rodriguez down all night as he tossed seven shutout innings. And J.D. Martinez given the firepower as he exploded for a three-hit nighttime, just two of that left the playground, and seven RBI.
The Red Sox are desperately trying to remain in the hunt for the 2nd card at the American League and currently course the Cleveland Indians and the Oakland Athletics by six and a half games for the last playoff spot in the league. The defending World Series champs have won six out of the last eight matches and need to find a means to get a big win tonight.
For San Diego, the Padres have lost three straight games and seven out of their last eleven. This group is currently trying to discover a way to live. The Padres have been disappointing this season, but they’d like to play spoiler tonight.
Beginning for the Red Sox is currently Nathan Eovaldi (1-0 6.69 ERA), and for the Padres it is Dinelson Lamet (2-2 3.95 ERA). The match is set at eight and a half runs. The Red Sox are all -119 road favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 5:40 PM PST in PETCO Park in San Diego.
What a difference a season makes for Nathan Eovaldi. Last season, he was the hero of this Red Sox championship series. This season he’s battled inconsistency and injuries all season long. After beginning the season in the rotation, he published results that were poor prior to getting a few weeks of actions.
Boston brought him back in late July to be a relief man in the bullpen, and he really fought to remain consistent. Now with Chris Sale heading down for the remainder of the year, Eovaldi has been asked to rejoin the starting rotation, and Boston needs him help continue this team and to be a hero.
It’ll be intriguing to see Eovaldi pitches tonight against a Padres team that is actually struggling together with Tatis from this lineup to score runs. The Padres are averaging over three runs on the game since Tatis obtained hurt.
Dinelson Lamet is beginning to truly make a name for himself this season. The guy out of the Dominican Republic has shown some flashes of becoming quite good in work this year. He tossed a stone against the Seattle Mariners in early August at which he wound up pitching seven innings and allowing no runs.
But the flashes of achievement have been that, flashes, since he hasn’t managed to stay consistent to be reliable. His ERA was more than five runs in five July starts, however he’s been much better here in August as his ERA is merely 2.50 in 3 looks. The issue for Lamet is that he simply doesn’t get deep into games, since he’s pitched five innings or fewer. And that he will have his hands full tonight against a Boston team that is next in the majors and on-base percent, and first in batting average.
I think he is in for a rude awakening tonight contrary to the hard-hitting Boston squad while I have been impressed with everything Dinelson Lamet has completed in his last few starts. Shutting down the Reduce Seattle Mariners does not prove that you can handle a lineup such as the one Boston may work with tonight.
While I do not believe Lamet will be as poor as Chris Paddack was yesterday for San Diego, Paddack got blasted for six runs in two and a third innings of work, I really do think he will give up runs. Nathan Eovaldi is definitely a card that’s not easy to predict, but something tells me he finds a way to shut this down Padres team that just can not score runs at the moment.
I’ve been preaching all season that many Shia bettors place focus about a game’s starting pitching matchup. Together with how all over the area Eovaldi has been this year, and with Lamet pitching I can see a case being made which Lamet is the better side of this beginning pitching matchup. But one instance that can’t be denied is that the Red Sox will be the far superior team that is overall.
Boston has experienced their fair share of ups and downs this year, but even thenthey still have more wins than the Padres. And this group has their roster from last year’s World Championship team nearly all to be honest, and that I believe they find a way to back door to the playoffs until it is all done and said.
And to accomplish this, they are going to have find a way to beat groups. And that is just exactly what I believe will occur. I normally prefer to bet underdogs as I really like the payouts, in the event the cost is right but at a place such as this one I don’t mind placing a tiny wood. Give that the Boston Red Sox tonight in game 2 from San Diego to me!
