Gregor Townsend was left after confirming he’s five World Cup harm concerns, counting the cost of the side success.
The most serious concerns centre around flanker Jamie Ritchie that was taken after the Dark Blues’ struggle at Murrayfield to hospital using a wound.
Lock Ben Toolis and full-back Blair Kinghorn equally suffered head knocks that will necessitate concussion tests while Blade Thomson along with Jonny Gray – making his first run out of the warm-up show – can also be nursing hamstring injuries.
Together with his side due to fly on Monday and more than just a fortnight to go in Yokohama on September 22, Townsend admitted he is concerned.
The Scotland head coach said:”Jamie Ritchie went off with a facial injury. He will go tonight to find out that’s severity. That’s our most concerning injury since he had to be replaced with an facial injury. We hope it is not something which will keep him from the World Cup.
“Two players needed to be eliminated as a result of concussion. Blair Kinghorn had a cut on the back of his mind and had symptoms if he was getting straightened. He’ll go through the protocols. Toolis picked up a head injury and has been removed from the field of play.
“Blade Thomson felt his hamstring tightening up and his was more precautionary as was Jonny Gray who had just return from a hamstring injury.
“Obviously the concern is if any will miss being around the airplane. Jamie is the most and we hope it is good news if he comes back out of his hospital trip after tonight. It was more the effect on his head.”
Scotland stuttered throughout the first half as the powerhouse Georgians got the upper hand.
However, they upped their pace and ran out comfortable winners.
Townsend added:”It was not so great in the first half along with a disrupted second half. We performed in the previous 15 minutes with a lot of energy and adapted. We seemed good in the first half – we set rate on the ball and got supporting the defence that was Georgian.
“We got a couple of good tries but we did not continue to the ball . We gave Georgia ownership occasionally throughout ill-discipline and penalties , occasionally through not appearing after the ball connected.
“We adapted quite well to needing to put three distinct people to the second row in the second half. We scrummed with seven guys to the previous 10 minutes and did. The players got together and discovered a way to receive a comfortable win in the end.”
