Sprinter Richard Kilty has voted to Ruler Great Britain by His Own team-mates at the World Athletics Championships in Doha.
The European indoor 60m champion that is a part of the relay group and will be preparing for his fourth consecutive World Championships, which start next week.
Kilty stated:”It feels unbelievable. It’s almost always a huge honor to be a symbol of the British team as captain feels astonishing but to be chosen.
“It will definitely go down as a distinctive moment in my sports career. The group is so talented with star athletes.
“A lot of these athletes in the squad have leadership skills and might do an incredible job at becoming captain. It makes it extra special my fellow athletes also have chosen me .
“I’ve got a fantastic story to tell and I will try my best to inspire the team every second from my team speech and also on a daily basis on the duration of the bible.”
Kilty, 30, is a reigning Commonwealth champion in the function and won gold.
He won the 200m in the European Team Championships a month, coming in 0.05 seconds of his personal best of 20.34secs place in 2013.

“Richard is an inspiration to his team-mates on the trail and so many off it also, in particular through his work with young people, particularly at his house on Teesside.
“It is not surprising that his peers have voted him captain of the British team to Doha and I am looking forward to seeing Richard adopt the functions and duties of being captain from right through to the conclusion of the Championships.”
